What’s your poison? (The diary of an addict)

I can almost touch heaven.

After spending about two hours in the market and under the hot sun, it was little wonder why I devoured my favorite drink like a voracious lion. I had been shaking like a leaf. I could feel my body shutting down. Not that I was hungry, oh no! I just needed a drink.
When the soft drink hawker came my way, I blessed the Lord for remembering me in my time of distress and began consuming the bottle of Pepsi like my destiny lay beneath it. If the bottle could fit through my throat, I probably would have swallowed it without even realizing.
“Auntie calm down na, the drink no dey run” said a passerby.

Some people need to learn to mind their own business.

After downing the bottle, I still wasn’t satisfied. I signaled for another one, and devoured it just like the previous one as soon as it reached my hands. I can imagine the surprised look on your face. Yes! I’m a Pepsi addict.
I have gone through the whole “This thing is bad for you” phase with my friends, I’m almost sure that some of them put me in their prayers. But the truth is- nothing beats the feeling Pepsi gives, the tingling sensation you get when you take a gulp after a hard day’s work. It’s better than falling in love! (Don’t quote me on that)
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not ignorant of the perpetual dangers of consuming carbonated drinks, but I’ve picked my poison and it’s Pepsi!
What’s your poison?
